Mission

The primary purpose of the Lexington Area Sports Authority (LASA) is to promote amateur sports in the Lexington area by bringing in, and supporting, quality amateur athletic events. These events, which utilize local public and private facilities and resources, have a tremendous social and economic impact on the community.

In addition, LASA will actively support the development of youth sports programs and events as a positive alternative to drugs and gangs and, as a means of introducing goals and positive values to youth. Every boy and girl, regardless of age, ability level, and/or socio-economic background, should be exposed to, and porvided with, the opportunity to participate in sports.
